An autobiography co-written by Matt Hughes, arguably the most accomplished and dominant champion in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, will be released next week by Simon Spotlight Entertainment, a division of publishing powerhouse Simon & Schuster.The 304-page title, aptly dubbed “Matt Hughes: The Most Dominant Champion in UFC History,” is co-written by Michael Malice.The book retails for $24 and will be available in stores on New Year’s Day.
This newest MMA tome will be one of many planned for 2008, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from publishing-industry insiders. Fighters such as B.J. Penn and Jens Pulver recently released new titles, and 2008 will mark the debuts of books on future UFC hall-of-famer Chuck Liddell (Jan. 29), former champ Tito Ortiz (May 6), and current UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture (July 22). Additionally, we may soon see books on fighters such as Georges St. Pierre, Sean Sherk and even Gina Carano.
